ABOUT
I am a visual artist and photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. Before taking an interest in the arts, I earned a Master’s degree in chemistry and worked as a scientist researching and developing novel materials, including the production of holographic films. In the evenings, my interest piqued in another kind of lab: the photography darkroom.

My artwork explores human and philosophical aspects of documentary photography and peers into the social aspects of people inhabiting the built environment. My pictures incorporate a theatrical mood with the aesthetics and candor of contemporary photography with a post-modern psyche.

My photographs are widely circulated in commercial & editorial uses and held in private art collections. As with my personal projects, commissioned work is driven by a visual storytelling approach accented with a creative aesthetic. Select clients include Oxford University Press and New York Magazine.

Along with my personal odyssey in photography, I am a master fine art printer and help produce works for other artists and professionals. As such, I have produced produced photographic works for artists on exhibition at the Polygon Gallery, the Pendulum Gallery, Initial Gallery, Richmond Art Gallery, and the Burrard Arts Foundation to name a few.

Having an interest in the artistic, educational, and philosophical aspects of photography, I am regularly invited to give talks to local camera clubs, including an invited lecture at the University of British Columbia, the judging of an international photography competition sponsored by Sony Ericsson, and have served on the jury of the Capture Photography Festival. I am a founding member of Strange.rs Collective, authored articles for Photosho Magazine, and was featured in Shutr FotoMagazine. In 2012, I published my first solo book: Drop Out of Art School.

I am also the owner and fine art printer at PrintMaker Studio, a Canson Infinity Certified Print Lab, and Owner and Director or Gallery 881, a lens-based contemporary art gallery located in Vancouver, Canada. Previously, I was a co-Creator and Director of 560 Gallery.
